SIG Performance Technology Celebrates Industry Recognition for Product Innovation
Brought to market by SIG Performance Technology last year, the revolutionary Chi-Gasket has been shortlisted in the Structural Timber Awards as a showcase of innovation, best practice and expertise in timber technology. Used on high profile timber frame developments, including the landmark Yoker project in Glasgow, the Chi-Gasket has been recognised for the extensive thermal benefits it can deliver.
The Structural Timber Awards represent outstanding projects, innovative products and draw attention to the revolutionary purpose that they serve in the UK timber industry. As a simple clip-on solution for rainscreen bracketry, the Chi-Gasket helps to reduce the thickness of external insulation by enhancing the thermal performance of a building. By reducing cold-bridging and preventing heat being transferred out, Chi-Gasket helps developments comply with Part L (England and Wales) and Section 6 (Scotland).
Liam Colebrook, New Product Development Director for SIG Performance Technology, said: “We understand that balancing thermal performance requirements with fire protection standards are a major challenge facing high rise timber frame developments. We developed the Chi-Gasket to help achieve compliance and maintain construction efficiencies by acting as a quick and easy addition to standard bracketry. We are thrilled to be shortlisted, especially in this category, as it recognises the hard work that has gone into creating this innovative product that will shape the future of insulation specification.
The Structural Timber Awards will be taking place on 10th October 2018, at the National Conference Centre Birmingham, for more information please visit https://www.structuraltimberawards.co.uk/.
